Why the Traditional Latin Mass?

The Traditional Latin Mass, or TLM, was, in it’s basic form, the Mass of the Church for approximately 1500 years. For most of the greatest saints in history, the Mass they knew their whole lives was the TLM. Even modern saints like St. Faustina Kowalska, St. Maximilian Kolbe, and St. Padre Pio all knew only this Mass. For many, the TLM represents a precious inheritance that was hidden away for decades. With the publication of motu proprio Summmorum Pontificum, Pope Benedict bestowed upon the church a great gift.

The Supreme Pontiffs have to this day shown constant concern that the Church of Christ should offer worthy worship to the Divine Majesty, “for the praise and glory of his name” and “the good of all his holy Church.”

- Pope Benedict XVI

It is in this opening line above - the offering of worship worthy of our Lord - that we find the reason for turning to the beauty and tradition of the Latin Mass.
